20 for 20 black combe walk. 9th August 2025

Hello everyone I am sure you have had enough about our 20th celebrations. As part of this we are asking people to take part in 20 challenges for 20 years. Either sponsored or just for fun.

Earlier on les decided that his 20 for 20 challenge would be to take 20 young people with mixed abilities including wheelchairs to the top of black coombe

He decided this as most young people will see this mountain every day and don’t even know what it is called never mind getting to the top of it.

Behind the scenes we have been organising if it was safe and practical to do this.

After a risk assessment conducted by bendrigg lodge it was decided that this is doable

First of all it won’t be easy and at a later date we will be calling on volunteers to assist with this.

We would love to take everyone that is wanting too up but this is not going to be possible. We will have to select people through a variety of criteria’s.so please do not be disappointed if you do not get chosen

The walk would take around 4/5 hours up to the top and around 2 hours down

.once at the top we are hoping for a photographer to take a picture of us on the summit from our centre roof on Walney .

Due to nature of this project we have had to bring in specialist organisers. This will come at a cost and we would be asking each walker to aim for £200 sponsorship

We will also looking at corporate sponsorship on another post (which Jeff Moses will be in charge of this)
